We also recorded some 2 track demos - most of which are appearing on the forthcoming Bus Stop releases
Emily were living on the studio floor at the time
Jim Shepherd of the Jasmine Minks assisted with the mixing. I remember him being horrified that one of the toms had only been picked up by the overheads

Not Nailed Down / The Best Laugh I Ever Had

Ford / Pennington / Carr / McLoughlin with Creevy on percussion
Esurient Communications - PACE 9 - 1990
Recorded by Ken Nelson during dead time at Amazon - Ken was allowed to use the time to hone his trade

Covered In Love / Sacred Skin

Ford / Pennington / Carr / Creevy
Dishy 001 - 1992
Recorded by Ken again at Parr Street. We recorded 7 and picked the two that came out best.
Six of these songs appear on Hymns..., the missing one is Uncle Oliver, which was also recorded (and came out better) at Parr Street for the unreleased single. The first time I felt truly comfortable in a studio!

"Soul Food" Wraparound fanzine with flexi
Gold Vanes - The Keatons / Callaghan - HFS
Ford / Pennington / Carr / Creevy
Audacious One - 1992
Recorded at the same time as Covered In Love

Sarasine / No Hands

Ford / Pennington / Carr / Creevy
Dishy 002 - 1993
Recorded at Hard City Records by Ken.
This studio used to be 'The Ark' where early Decemberists and Jenny Lind demos were recorded and it held a few bad memories for all concerned. We had a few problems with it, but the end result was good thanks to Ken.
Guy made good use of the fact that there was coincidentally a play of the same name and used some of the publicity material for the cover (is this correct or have I made it up?)
Two other songs were recorded, and these all appear on the Hymns... retrospective.

Calling At Duke Street compilation LP
Bill & Sarah
Ford / Pennington / Carr / Creevy
A Turntable Friend Turn 16
More product from the Covered In Love sessions, once mooted as a single

The unreleased single
Cock O'The Street / Uncle Oliver
Ford / Pennington / Carr / Creevy
Recorded at Parr Street in 1996 by Ken.
Originally planned as the next Dishy single. In the end it never came out - though it is planned to appear on a Bus Stop EP.
Eight songs were recorded - intended to be part of an LP on Dishy. Only the two songs that make up the single were completed, though we have rough mixes of the remainder: I Won't Tell A Soul / Arthur's Tongue / Holy Joe / Joy / Great Big Beautiful World / Get Another Lover.
